Meet Gita, a seasoned mindfulness teacher and certified meditation instructor with over 25 years of dedicated study in Buddhism philosophy and meditation practices. She has had the privilege of learning from renowned meditation masters and teachers both nationally and internationally, attending numerous courses and retreats to deepen her understanding. After years of intensive study, Gita has graduated as a mindfulness meditation teacher, equipped with the knowledge and wisdom to guide others on their mindfulness journey.
Gita brings a wealth of experience beyond her mindfulness training. With a successful background in management and finance, she has served as a high-level executive and entrepreneur, gaining valuable skills that enrich her teaching approach. Her purpose is to make a positive difference in people’s quality of life and overall happiness, fostering individual well-being and contributing to the betterment of society as a whole.
Believing that meditation is a powerful tool for achieving balance and inner calmness, Gita guides her students towards peaceful coexistence with themselves and their surroundings. Her teachings encourage compassion, respect, nurturing, healing, and cooperation, emphasizing the profound interconnectedness that exists within all beings. Gita’s commitment to her own growth and development is reflected in her extensive training and certifications. She completed a rigorous six-month meditation teacher training course with the esteemed Willpower Institute in Canada and Thailand, earning her Meditation Instructor Certificate. Additionally, she has furthered her training at the Mindful School in Emeryville, CA, specializing in Mindful Educator Essentials, Difficult Emotions, and Mindful Communication. Notably, Gita successfully completed the Mindful Teacher Year-Long certification program with Mindful Schools, earning the esteemed title of Mindful Schools Certified Mindfulness Instructor (CMI) as part of the class of 2017-2018.
Gita’s passion lies in sharing her profound mind training practices with her students, whether in-person or through online meditation sessions. She derives immense joy from witnessing the transformative impact of mindfulness in their lives, as it brings clarity and awareness to their minds. My Spiritual Journey
A Mindfulness journey to Self-Awareness & Helping Others
In September 2013, I embarked on a transformative journey by attending the six-month Meditation Instructor course at the esteemed Willpower Institute in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada. Little did I know that this unique meditation program would leave an indelible mark on my life, offering profound insights and empowering me to share the practice of mindfulness with others.
Having explored various meditation courses and teachings in the past, I was astounded by the in-depth study provided by the Meditation Teacher Training program at the Willpower Institute. Over the course of six months, we delved into three comprehensive handbooks that revealed the inner workings of the mind during meditation. With daily hour-long meditation sessions from Monday to Friday, and a commitment to continue practicing at home on weekends, I gained valuable tools to strengthen my mind, enhance concentration, and maintain emotional equilibrium.
Following the completion of the meditation course, an unforgettable experience awaited me in Thailand. A group of us traveled to the breathtaking Doi-Inthanon mountains for a two-week Meditation Retreat. Surrounded by over 4,500 participants from Thailand, the United States, and Canada, we embarked on a spiritual adventure that would leave an indelible imprint on our souls.
The evenings at the Meditation Retreat were truly extraordinary. We joined together in collective meditation sessions, where the energy of over 4,500 individuals merged into a powerful force. Amidst the stillness and luminosity, a deep sense of peace and tranquility enveloped us. It was an experience that transcended individual practice, revealing the profound potential of group meditation to unlock new realms of awareness.
During our hiking excursions in the scorching heat of the Doi-Inthanon mountains, we put our mindfulness training to the ultimate test. As we observed our thoughts and emotions, we stayed fully present in the moment. Despite the challenging conditions, we discovered that through diligent self-observation and meditation, we could let go of exhaustion, fatigue, and discomfort as they arose. This enabled us to tap into newfound reserves of energy and transform our minds.
The transformative power of the Meditation Retreat and the comprehensive training received at Willpower Institute instilled within me a deep sense of responsibility. As Luangphor, our master, advised us through his books and talks, I felt eager and aspire to share this invaluable practice with others. Teaching meditation became not just a personal endeavor but a calling to offer the benefits of mindfulness to everyone, helping them lead happier, healthier, and more harmonious lives.
This gift has had a lasting impact on my life, equipping me with the tools to manage my emotions more effectively and cultivate a sense of inner balance and equanimity. The profound influence of this practice extends to both personal and professional aspects of life.
The journey I embarked on at Willpower Institute and the subsequent Meditation Retreat in Thailand were truly life-changing experiences. Through diligent study, collective meditation, and mindful hiking in the mountains, I discovered the power of mindfulness to transform the mind and navigate life’s challenges.
