Equanimity means accepting everything that comes to our experience at the moment without judging it. Mindfulness is paying attention with equanimity. So, when we practice, we sit and observe anything that is present for us at the moment, let it be, and let it pass through our mind and body. When we develop equanimity dealing with the challenges of our lives becomes easier Let’s Practice together: Find a comfortable place to sit with your spine straight, and body relaxed Resting your hands on your lap, and close your eyes if you are comfortable doing so Take a moment to check it and notice how your mind and body feel right now. Breathe naturally and welcome anything that comes to your awareness at this moment. Simply notice what is present for you right now. Notice it with kindness and curiosity. Nothing to do, nowhere to go, nothing to change, Stay present…, at this moment. Grasping nothing, resisting nothing….., Just letting be…, allow your experience to be as it is right now. Whenever your mind wanders, simply notice it and bring your attention back to your breath and to your body and Breathing in & breathing out….., Let your body breathe itself, nice and easy breath. When any sensations, images, feelings or thoughts come to your mind or body during this practice, simply notice them without judgement, acknowledge them, accept them as they are, You can also name them, name them, tame them and let them pass. Then bring your attention back to your body, notice the touch points of your body with the chair or the cushion, notice your hands on your lap, check for any sensations. Notice your feet on the floor, check for any feelings or sensations. Then gently bring your attention back to your breathing, come back to this moment, come back to center…, and whenever you are ready open your eyes and finish this practice. Thank you Gita
