“You don’t forgive because the other person deserves forgiveness; you forgive because you deserve peace.”

Deepak Chopra

Forgiving ourselves and others will bring peace and harmony to our lives.resourcespic

We choose to forgive to release the memory of the incidents that distresses us constantly.

Forgiveness is a form of letting go, it creates space to establish skillful habits and mind states that are in harmony with the desire to change.

Forgiveness also diminishes the stress that comes from judging ourselves and others.

The process begins by forgiving our mistakes, difficult emotions, and habits.

From this perspective, everything is equally forgivable, whether it’s our laziness, self-hatred, impatience, dissatisfaction of our bodies, or tendency to overeat.

Just the willingness to be mindful of what is calling for forgiveness is an essential step.

It can be very helpful to make a list of the things you find difficult to forgive yourself for and to use the list in this Forgiveness Meditation practice.

After doing 10 min of mindfulness meditation you can start to meditate on forgiveness.

Start to forgive yourself for any wrong doings or any self judgment about your self, your body shape, your thoughts and emotions, your actions, anything that you have done which you think it was inappropriate, anything other people did that hurt you or make you upset, if you did something that hurt your friends, or your partner or any one, just forgive yourself and accept yourself the way you are right now, you are perfect in your own way, no need for self- blaming yourself…

You can silently repeat these phrases while meditating:

May I forgive myself for any hurt or harm I have caused myself intentionally or unintentionally.

May I forgive myself for any negative feelings I have had towards people whom I know or don’t know, emotions like: Jealousy, hatred, shame, anger, judgment, and so on.

Then start to make space for other people who annoyed you or hurt you, just bring them in your mind and try to forgive them for their wrong doing, make an offer to give them the gift of priceless forgiveness, and to yourself the gift of relief and peace.
